Lovin' my Airmax to the Max!

There are quite a number of reasons why I am loving these pair of Airmax.  Foremost of which is the fact that I got them for free.  Yes.  For free.  These were purchased using my BDO Rewards plus.  Second is the fact that these are pink.  And not just pink, mind you.  These are hot bright fuchsia pink so they're very me!  Third, these are Nike Airmax.  Simply one of the best in Nike's famous line of "comfort shoes."

Nike describes my pair as:

Lightweight breathable mesh upper with adjustable midfoot support strap for extra stability and support
  • Phylon midsole for lightweight cushioning
  • Max Air technology for maximum impact protection and cushioning
  • DiamondFLX technology for enhanced multidirectional flexibility
  • Rubber pods in outsole for enhanced traction and durability
  • Imported

And promises the following:
You bring it all to your workout, and so does the Nike® Air Max Trainer Essential Women's Training Shoe. A versatile design, featuring customizable support, cushioning, and flexibility, the Air Max Essential is the whole package.
Having had it for just a week now, I could already attest to the truth of its claims.  It is lightweight, comfortable, flexible, and true to its AirMax advantage.
I got it in my size 7.5. I am usually a 7, but 7.5 fits just as well.  I like how it snuggly holds my feet.

I also cherish the fact that pink is always trendy, and not to mention, girly!  (shhh..  even when I'm already __ty! ;-)
The mid-foot support strap (that silver thing) does its job well in providing extra support whilst walking or jogging.

My heel rests well in the air-hole padded sole.  And I love the "squeeshy" sensation I get everytime I take a stride.

Nike claims to have applied its diamond-flex technology in making the criss-cross design of the sole.  Its what makes each step comfortable and truly flexible.

On Sale for PhP 3415.50 from the orig. price of PhP 3795
With this fuchsia trainers, I can finally start my long-overdue affair with the gym, with the road, and with the court. =)

Whoever watches TV must'v gotten familiar by that upbeat jingle that accompanies the BDO Rewards ad.  The scenes aren't fancy. Just enough to pique on one's curiosity.  But just how does BDO Rewards bring anyone rewards?

Dared to Bare

Last summer was truly a memorable one.  My family and I were able to literally savor the essence of summer because we were able to frolic under the sun.  First we went to Bora (will discuss the trip more in another post).  And boy, oh boy, I jumped at the opportunity to do that which I have always wanted: wear a two piece bikini. Heheheh..

Yup, in my entire lifetime, I have never--as in never-- dared to bare that much.  True, I've tried to be in the appropriate swimming attire whenever I am at Bora or at the pool (even at home when I lounge at our outdoor jacuzzi) but NEVER have I mustered enough guts to be seen in a two-piece attire. And yes, oh yes, its definitely something I have been wanting to do.

So what exactly happened to me you wonder? Heheh.. I got inspired! I am following a blog of two wonderful ladies, Dana and Stacy.  They call their blog PLUMP.. Its a wonderful blog filled with alot of powerful insights for women who feel inferior because of their size.

Check our their latest swimsuit photos of their trip to Amanpulo...

Here's Danah...

And here's her twin sister, Stacy...

To say that these two are gorgeous is an understatement.  They are amazingly awesome.  And I adore them soo much I dared to bare too...

I must admit being in a two-piece made me self-conscious at first.  But it was really fun.  I still giggle everytime I remember my bikini... And yes, I'm glad I dared to bare.. Heheh. ;-)

A Woman Scorned

I wrote about my brother in law who was smitten by our neighbor...  And that became part of the reason why I was gone for quite a while.  What he did has had a huge impact not only on sister but upon us all as well.

Whoever said that "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" really meant it.  The other woman was truly scorned when my brother in law decided to ditch her in order to save his marriage..

She sought revenge by spreading smear campaign not just against my sister but against our family.  And boy, she did know how to hit us at our softest spot. I won't go into details anymore about the stories she fabricated against us -- til now, I still cannot reconcile how a woman like her (who seemed pretty decent having had two college degrees) can go to the extreme and employ the dirtiest tactics known to man.

What astounded me initially was my sister's reaction when she first confronted her.  My sis had pure, untainted sympathy towards her.  How that became possible, I'll never know.  But its one attribute I will forever take pride about my sister.  My sis thought the mistress only fell prey to the circumstances..but she was wrong.  We all were.

The mistress was one cunning woman who was really determined to lure my brod in law to her charm.  And because my brod in law realized her family mattered more than anything that woman had to offer, he broke ties with her.

That's why all hell broke lose.. She got back at us..determined to ruin us before the entire community of cynics and bigots.

The pain she has caused my sister and our entire family persists... But like Mom has aptly stated what is to be our mantra on this crisis: "If she who has offended us can stand strong, determined to ruin us, then we have better reasons to stand united and fight her.  We offended no one. We stepped on no one.  Hence, we should never succumb to anyone -- especially her who has done this great transgression."

Did I make sense? Oh nevermind...I just had to see to it that I will very well remember this episode in our lives...

But yes, Mom is right.  In my own little way, it'll be my mantra too... So long as I don't step on anyone, I should let NO ONE, step on me.

May God be with us all.
