The Comfiest Shoes in the World

I am on my feet most of the time!

Ever since i left government service to tackle freelance gigs, I knew I had to rid myself of my "pretty" uncomfy shoes: narrow pointy flats, pumps, wedges, sandals, etc. I realized I had no real need for them anyway! Living in a tiny home has its perks. And dealing with soo much stuff isn't definitely one of them.

So i was in search of the "comfiest" shoes in the planet. My feet aren't too pretty for flipflops (or Fitflops! For that matter! Everyone I know owns atleast a pair of those huuge chunky flops!) and Crocs can be boring (I have five pairs I wear in rotation). So the comfiest pair I don so far are the black Hush Puppy loafers I bought back when I was still an office gurl.

Anyways, i searched shoe fora, blogs, and even pinterest! The common shoe that was mentioned was this:

Yup, i agree! It doesn't look very pretty in there! But at 37? I certainly know i can no longer compromise comfort for style!

So yes, i yielded! After waddling through an array of colors and styles of Skechers Go Walk, i finally opted for this one. And take note, i got it on sale! ;)

Presenting, my Skechers Go Walk! ;)

While boxed, the pair indeed feels über light!

My first Go Walk pair in grey maryjanes.

The Go Walk logo at the heel part

With elastic band, nylon and suede top, and resalyte sole

Isn't she pretty?

Sole-mates!

Hot pink soles are made of memory foam!  That's why others claim they seem to "walk in the clouds" in their Go Walk!

Yup, they;re not only light!  They're also flexible!

And they can literally take you anywhere!

So yes, being comfy, they're mg everyday staple. I could walk and prance in them all day. And while the style i got seems kind've juvenile for my age, i don't fret. Afterall, nothing beats the satisfaction of having worn the comfiest shoes in the world all day long! ;)

Skechers Go Walk range from Php3,200 to php3,600 in SM department stores.  I got mine for php2,500(?) on sale. :)

Lovin' my Airmax to the Max!

There are quite a number of reasons why I am loving these pair of Airmax.  Foremost of which is the fact that I got them for free.  Yes.  For free.  These were purchased using my BDO Rewards plus.  Second is the fact that these are pink.  And not just pink, mind you.  These are hot bright fuchsia pink so they're very me!  Third, these are Nike Airmax.  Simply one of the best in Nike's famous line of "comfort shoes."

Nike describes my pair as:

Lightweight breathable mesh upper with adjustable midfoot support strap for extra stability and support
  • Phylon midsole for lightweight cushioning
  • Max Air technology for maximum impact protection and cushioning
  • DiamondFLX technology for enhanced multidirectional flexibility
  • Rubber pods in outsole for enhanced traction and durability
  • Imported

And promises the following:
You bring it all to your workout, and so does the Nike® Air Max Trainer Essential Women's Training Shoe. A versatile design, featuring customizable support, cushioning, and flexibility, the Air Max Essential is the whole package.
Having had it for just a week now, I could already attest to the truth of its claims.  It is lightweight, comfortable, flexible, and true to its AirMax advantage.
I got it in my size 7.5. I am usually a 7, but 7.5 fits just as well.  I like how it snuggly holds my feet.

I also cherish the fact that pink is always trendy, and not to mention, girly!  (shhh..  even when I'm already __ty! ;-)
The mid-foot support strap (that silver thing) does its job well in providing extra support whilst walking or jogging.

My heel rests well in the air-hole padded sole.  And I love the "squeeshy" sensation I get everytime I take a stride.

Nike claims to have applied its diamond-flex technology in making the criss-cross design of the sole.  Its what makes each step comfortable and truly flexible.

On Sale for PhP 3415.50 from the orig. price of PhP 3795
With this fuchsia trainers, I can finally start my long-overdue affair with the gym, with the road, and with the court. =)

Oxfordish Feet-ish

This is Feet-ish Part Two.

Months ago, the Customs Chief had initiated a move that would prompt law makers to impose custom duties upon ukay-ukay or thrift articles (clothes, bags, shoes, etc).  How such news made me sad.  The only luxury i can afford right now is an occasional trip to thrift stores.  If they'd make all these pre-loved goodies pricey, they'd most certainly rob me of my happiness.
Speaking of thrift finds, a recent visit earned me this.  Beautiful oxford-ish casual shoes that should serve me for a couple of years of more. Lol.

The best part about this pair is it came in my size.  I so love the color too and the fit. Very comfy.  I was eying something like this for quite sometime at the mall since my official motorcycle boots have manifested signs of wear already. I very much prefer having these instead of boots because they're so much easier to wear.

I also like the color.  It's real leather, allowing my feet to breathe.  I also find the print cool and classy.  Yes, it does go with any outfit.  Especially with my black motorcycle jacket.

I googled the brand and found it mostly makes quality bags from Italy. Hmm..not sure if they make shoes.

One thing's sure though:  I'm a lucky girl to have found these! ;-)

Feet-ish!

With the car  being out of commission (for a repainting job after that incident), I am on my feet most of the time..  When I was a university professor, I loved being in heels, pointed toes, and yes, even chunky heels or stilettos. I started teaching university students when I was only 20yrs old, and being just a little over 5feet, most of my students towered above me.  So I experimented with high-heeled shoes (never got used to them before I became a teacher) and instantly earned that instant "oomph" in my confidence and height. But alas! Since I carry my mother's genes, I find myself prone also to rheumatism (self-diagnosed).  Those many years I have spent walking tall in high heeled beauties are talking its toll on me..  Now I realized, I cannot compromise comfort over fashion.  I knew I had to switch my preference to flats.

So on here's my feet-ish as of the moment:

Crocband Flat in Yellow: PhP 2350 in Crocstores  (about 55USD)
I love this in bright yellow.  It goes with anything I wear.  And the comfort it gives is amazing.  I can be in these all day and not wince on scrimped toes!
Crocs Malindi in Cotton Candy: PhP1850 (about 43USD)
The first Crocs I owned: I <3 it alot!
These are the first pair of Crocs I owned which eventually became my almost everyday shoes. Who can resist the comfort they bring?  Would have loved to collect them in all colors but then there's really not much point in collecting a lot of 'em since pink and yellow are enough to be paired with just about anything.  My toes aren't exactly too pretty to be shown off otherwise, I would have taken a Florence or a Rio. =(  Anyways, these two will do for the meantime.

For "dressier" days when I'm not allowed to be in rubber shoes or slippers, these are what I sport...

I bought these at the same time because they were on sale.  How much?  Only PhP500 (less than 12USD) each pair.  Not bad.  But these are more like disposable shoes (the gold is already showing signs of wear after using them for a couple of times).  The good thing is since they come in a pouch, I can go to work in heels and change into these flats when I have to run or in between lunch break so my feet can rest.  Yes, they are foldables.  Since I carry a large tote with me all the time, these two perfectly fit in my bag.

I still like being in heels.  I guess, every woman agrees, its something that cannot be dispensed with -- at one point or another, we will always need to stand taller.  But on ordinary days, its certainly okay to be in flats.  Its a most welcome treat for our tired, aching feet. =)
